History

Modig Machine Tool has long had the vision to start designing and producing automation equipment. Our ambitions came true in 2022 when David Modig, Sven, Olof, and Bengt Ståhl launched Modig Automation Systems. Altogether Modig Machine Tool and the brothers have 110 years of machine tool manufacturing and automation experience.

The three brothers established their company in 1987. Since then, more than 12,000 automation solutions have been developed and delivered primarily to the manufacturing sector worldwide. Throughout the years the brothers have gained extensive knowledge and gathered a team of specialists in robot automation with long experience in handling technology. There is no doubt that Sven, Olof, and Bengt are passionate about automation. Within Modig Automation Systems they will continue to follow their heart by working closely with the customers to design customized automation solutions that extract maximum productivity from the customer’s machining centers.

Modig Automation Systems headquarters is located in Kalmar, Sweden. The headquarters is housing offices, a workshop with assembling lines, and, facilities for demonstrations, training and customer trials. The Research & Development department is located in Värnamo, where the three brothers’ company was founded.
